Welcome to Orange County Wound and Hyperbaric

Orange County Wound and Hyperbaric is a physician owned medical practice that is dedicated to the eradication of problem wounds and to state of the art hyperbaric oxygen therapy. It is the only independent wound and hyperbaric center in Orange County.

OCWH provides specialized wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients from all parts of Orange County and beyond. Our patients receive all of the benefits of a full service wound healing and hyperbaric center without the inconveniences & impersonal treatment associated with hospital programs.

As medical director, Darryl Werner, M.D. has over 17 years of experience healing problem wounds and safely treating patients with hyperbaric oxygen. Dr. Werner graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1988 and completed his postgraduate training in Emergency Medicine at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in 1991. He is Double Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and in Hyperbaric & Undersea Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Werner recently became one of the first physicians in the United States to become a Physician Certified in Wound Care by the Council for Graduate Medical Education and Testing and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association.

Krista Kousens, MS, PA-C; became a specialist with OCWH in 2008. Ms. Kousens graduated with honors from the Physician Assistant Program at Western University of Heath Sciences and has previous experience in breast surgery and medical laser therapy.

Alvin Chang, M.D. joined the staff of OCWH in 2012. He attended the UCLA School of Medicine and has been in private practice in Orange County for many years providing care to adults and seniors.

Robert Schreiman, M.D. also joined the OCWH team in 2012. He attended Medical School at Boston University and has practiced Family Medicine for many years in Orange County.

Our hyperbaric medicine department features two Sechrist hyperbaric oxygen chambers, both new in 2010. Our patients can sleep, watch satellite TV, enjoy a movie or listen to music during their treatment. All treatments are supervised by our Certified Hyperbaric Technicians and Respiratory Therapists. An oxygen back up and alarm systems provide additional safety. Chambers are supplied by a 45,000 gallon liquid oxygen storage tank which circulates pressurized oxygen through each chamber at 240 liters per minute and render it unecessary for patients to wear a confining mask or hood as may be required at other facilities.

Dr. Werner is also an expert in Undersea Medicine and provides care to scuba divers who experience decompression sickness or other diving medical problems. We provide medical certification for recreational and professional scuba divers. Sports Chalet and other local dive training centers refer their students to us for medical evaluation. The Metropolitan Water District also trusts our office with the medical care of their professional scuba diving team.

OCWH provides wound and hyperbaric treatment to patients throughout Southern California, including Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Riverside counties. Our office is warm and caring and our staff competent and responsive to patient needs. OCWH maintains two offices for the convenience of our patients - our main office in Santa Ana/Tustin at 720 North Tustin Avenue, Suite 100, and our satellite office in Laguna Hills at 23521 Paseo de Valencia, Suite 108, in the Senior Care Medical Associates office.
